Keep Oregon Wild
Every year, chainsaws and bulldozers overrun acres of pristine forests and
untouched landscapes, the state’s last remnants of wilderness. Less than 4%
of Oregon is permanently protected. Twice this percentage of land is protected
in California and Washington. Without legal protection it’s only a matter
of time before clearcuts and development make their mark on the rest of the
lands.

Forests
Across the country,
more than half of our national forests have been destroyed by logging, mining
and road building. One-third of our national forests contains untouched but
unprotected areasincluding some of the country's most pristine forests
here in Oregon. OSPIRG is working to protect this heritage.
