In Oregon and across the country, we’re spending far too much, and getting far too little in return for our health care dollar.  OSPIRG is fighting for policies that improve the accessibility, affordability, and quality of health care for all Oregonians.  Our most powerful resource in the fight for better care is our ability to speak for consumers.

Consumer voices are valuable to us for many reasons, but two stand out as especially important.  First, our knowledge of what’s on the mind of real, everyday people helps us set priorities in our health care campaigns.  Second, real, personal stories from individual consumers struggling with the health care system allow us to demonstrate the concrete impact of health care policy choices to the decision makers in Salem.

To that end, we’re asking individuals all over the state of Oregon to participate in a short survey about experiences and challenges with health care.  We want to hear what’s working and what’s not, as well as what changes real people would like to see made to health care policy in Oregon and the United States as a whole.

We’re aware that some of the problems facing consumers in the health care system are already receiving attention, from confusing and hidden hospital fees to sudden price hikes on essential drugs like insulin.  We’re hoping to expose individual stories about these issues, as well as stories about the problems no one is talking about yet.

OSPIRG welcomes the input of all Oregonians on their experiences with the health care system.  We encourage all interested individuals to take the survey, which should take less than 10 minutes to complete, by following this link.  This project was made possible, in part, with the support of a generous grant from Community Catalyst.
